Could you please let me know the proper way to cite Avogadro2 in presentations or papers?

I’ve noticed that most people provide a link to the website when citing Avogadro 1.2, but what is the recommended format for Avogadro2?

There will be an Avogadro2 paper.

In the meantime, you can cite the original paper for 1.2 and the Zenodo DOI, e.g.:

@misc{avogadro2,
	author = {Hanwell, Marcus D and Hutchison, Geoffrey R},
	doi = {https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19369545},
	month = {April},
	title = {Avogadro2 (version 2.0)},
	year = {2026},
    howpublished = {\url{https://github.com/openchemistry/avogadrolibs/releases/tag/2.0.0}},
    note = {Accessed: 2026-04-01}
}

I appreciate your response to my inquiry.
