Hi,
this is my first appearance here, so i hope i respect the nettiquette…in our work, it is often advantageous to be able to have a 3d view of scalar field quantities like electron density distributions or solvent atomic pair distribution functions. The technique that makes this possible is known as “Volume Rendering”. Though there are already some programmes that can display volume rendered quantities, few can read chemical data formats and allow for ball and stick models of molecules embedded in the field. It would be great, it that feature could be introduced into avogadro.
