I’ve been working off-and-on about updating https://two.avogadro.cc/ removing old screenshots, etc.
I’m curious about the current order of topics:
- What’s New in Avogadro 2
- Getting Started
- Tools
- Building Molecules
- Display Types
- Menus
- Building Materials
- Optimizing Geometry
- Extensions
- Tutorials
I think for now, we should drop “Extensions” until there’s something (e.g., documenting the Open Babel commands) as well as “Menus” for similar reasons.
I’d also suggest that we have something like:
- Getting Started
- Building Molecules
- Display Types
- Tools
- Tutorials
I’m also wondering if “Optimizing Geometry” belongs as a specific topic or under Tutorials.
The Display Types section will get additional pages on applying colors and the layer system.
I think this will at least serve as a good starting point for users and can be slowly improved with more documentation (e.g., bringing back itemized comments for all menu items, etc.)
Thoughts? Better ideas? Critiques?
