The Element list shows
e.g. Carbon (6) but the number is not
shown in the periodic table presentation.

Carsten had some good ideas here. He thought that we should revise the
periodic table widget. Rather than using buttons, he suggested
painting colored rectangles with whatever information we wanted.

This would also have the advantage that we could more easily change
the font size, element number, etc.

Right now, using QToolButton, we don’t have much space for more than
the element symbol.

Carsten, if you’re around, could you elaborate a bit?
