Python scripting on windows

Hello,

Is python scripting available for Avogadro on Windows? Normally I use Linux, but today installed Avogadro on a Windows machine for comparison. I can’t find the Python Console in the Windows version of Avogadro.

What about custom Engines and Extensions on Windows? The wiki doesn’t mention anything about operating system requirements in the page on Scripting at: http://avogadro.openmolecules.net/wiki/Category:Scripting

And just for the sake of being thorough - what about python scripting on Mac?

Thanks,

Steve

There should be two downloads for Windows – one python and one non-python. But I don’t remember if 1.0.2 / 1.0.3

Any release of Avogadro which has Python scripting enabled will allow custom Engines and Extensions – Linux, Windows, Mac…

Ah. There’s the catch. I can make a python release for Mac, but Apple releases different version of Python. So I’ll probably soon build a “Lion Python” version, but it’ll be tricky to support multiple OS releases.

P.S. I’m also optimistic about opening up QtScript / JavaScript support in Avogadro, which should offer some interesting automation capabilities and easily be cross-platform.

It is an old post but I have the same problem: no Python terminal in the menu bar.
When I download the binary version, it is automatic redirect to sourceforge. Is there a binary Win version supporting Python and extension?
