I believe this to be a bug with Avogadro
Environment Information
Avogadro version: 1.99.0
Operating system and version: Windows 11
Expected Behavior
Opening a file, showing molecular geometry and the calculated properties
Actual Behavior
Error while reading file
(The file is not corrupted, as it is read by Molden)
Steps to Reproduce
Please upload files if appropriate here (or via file-sharing service like Dropbox or Pastebin)
You’re going to have to upload the file in question so that Geoff or others can have a look at it

Can you try the latest nightly build https://two.avogadro.cc … it works okay on my Mac, although the vibrations aren’t available for some reason.
My student also sent me some Gaussian files that don’t seem to open on Windows either.
I’ll investigate … not sure why this doesn’t read, but IIRC there are some fixes in the nightly build for 1.99.1
