It would be great if Avogadro could open the input file (or actually a software’s output) in a separate window.
Sometimes it is easier to quickly check or edit the input directly in Avogadro rather than opening another text editor. This would be especially useful for inspecting coordinates or making small changes to input files before calculations.

I guess what you want is something like a View ⇒ Text command? (I’m definitely not sold on the name or location.) I don’t know about “making small changes” though - what do you have in mind? The input generators already let you edit the text before you save input.
My concern is with large output files. Someone on GitHub posted about parsing speed on a 500MB Orca output file (i.e., I see the value of a text window, but I don’t know about including a whole text editor in Avogadro vs. QPlainTextEdit potentially with some of the syntax highlighting options.
