Multi-molecule file

Hi
I’m trying to read some pdb files, for classical molecules (adrenalin, ethanoic acid,…).
When opening the file, I’ve a window with the message “opening multi-molecule file”.
And Avogadro (1.0.3) displays two molecular models on the same screen (quite analog to a stereoscopic vision).
How can I set the software to only display one molecule, in the center of the screen ?

Thank You.

Hmm, I’m not sure what could be causing this, and as far as I know,
there is no stereo rendering support in Avogadro. Someone else may
know more, but in the meantime can you send an example pdb file to the
list that shows this behavior?

Does this happen with other file formats? Or when drawing a molecule by hand?

Thanks,

Dave

I Join an exemple file.
Another information : I have this problem on the computers in my classroom , but not on my personnal computer running winxp too.
I’ll try tommorow with drawing a molecule and in other format.
Thanks for you interest in my request.

I tried this out using 1.0.3 on Windows Vista, and everything looks
ok. Do other 3D (particularly, OpenGL) applications have similar
issues?

I suspect that this is a driver issue for the video cards in the
classroom computers. Can you upgrade the video drivers, or try a
different one?

Dave

I update the video card driver, and test it with a diagnostic software :
openGL is supported entirely in the 1.4 version, and with some features
of the 1.5 version. Is it suffisant for Avogadro ?
I continue in this direction : I’ll try a different driver if possible.

OpenGL 1.4 should be fine with Avogadro. I can’t find our exact
minimum version at the moment, but if I remember correctly it’s
something 1.1?

This is your best bet. Usually when we can’t reproduce rendering bugs
like this, it’s most often a bad driver.

Cheers,
