Ahhh, of course - and when you change the resolution you also create a new surface with a different resolution. But first, don’t forget, you have to analyze the surface (which means in your logic, to recognize that the resolution was too high or low). And you have to switch from an object which is not there (a van der Waals surface) to an object that is present… And if you change the opacity your are creating a new surface with a different opacity…
Well, if you wanted to suggest different wording, there are plenty of threads where menus, etc have been changed.
But yes, in many cases you are creating a surface mesh that is not there or re-creating it. If you change the color or opacity, you’re just changing the style of display.
