This seems like it’s probably an easy win.
If someone goes to the “Configure Python” dialog, but there’s no Python found, in addition to the “Other…” option to find something… Shouldn’t we offer a link or button that says “Download Python” and opens up an appropriate URL?

I think me and @matterhorn103 would probably mostly be interested in deciding what flavor of Python should be added.
I know in my opinion I’d like a strongly unbiased version of Python, straight from python.org, however I know there are preferences from some for anaconda, conda-forge, and the like.
I think @matterhorn103 has a more informed (if not stronger) opinion than me since he has spent quite a long time looking at this sort of stuff.
I’d be inclined to say that we offer users the Pixi-based solution, and then delegate to Pixi for installing Python. And if they decline the Pixi option, they can source Python themselves
