How to make named selections visible

I was using the nanotube builder and created 3 types of nanotubes. I had two problems after I built them:

  1. I went into select ->add named selection it did not show up in the projtree for easy reselection. I tried settings configure Avogadro and was not able to see the named selection there. I am using windows 7.0

  2. I tried to use the click to measure iconF12 to measure the distance between two atoms of the nanotube. Again I was not able to select the two atoms to indicate what distance I was interested in. On clicking the atom only FPS number in the view box changed.

Thanks
Mala

I’m not terribly familiar with this feature, I’ll let someone else
answer this one.

  1. I tried to use the click to measure iconF12 to measure the distance

between two atoms of the nanotube. Again I was not able to select the two

The measure tool needs at least two atoms to be clicked. When the
first atom is clicked, a “#1” label should appear on the atom, then
when the second is clicked, the distance between them will be written
at the bottom of the 3D display. Does the “#1” label appear?
