At the moment and to the best of my knowledge there exists no easy way to check which of the nightly builds is installed / executed currently.
I know that there is a version number in the about dialogue, but this version is truncated to 1.99.0 and no build date is included.
For support and debug reasons it would be very helpful if one could easily check which version was actually executed. For this, I suggest the inclusion of the build number in the about dialogue and/or printing the complete version + build number + build date as first line in the avogadro2.log file.
Thanks for your great work.
Yeah, the ideal would be the date. The environment on the GitHub build servers is a little weird, but I’ll see if I can fix that.
I saw your post about the Windows build - I now have certificate signing active, but it won’t work for nightly builds (because it requires manual approval for each build). I’ll switch that back today.
Yes, I found the solution in one of the threads of the github issues tab and figured that a) you are already informed of the missing nightly and b) my problem was therefore solved and the thread not needed at all, so I removed it.
Due to the missing nightly I was interested in the version of the nightly I ran at my computer, but was unable to get the information. Hence this thread.

Unfortunately, the Windows build is broken in a very weird way. Something seemed to change – perhaps on the GitHub servers and I can’t rebuild anything on Windows.
I’ll post a recent build somewhere useful until I can figure that out. Might be a few days, unfortunately.
