Summary: Fails to launch with “configuration is incorrect” error
Initial Comment:
Avogadro 0.8.1 installed OK on a PC with Windows XP SP2, but attempting to launch the program brought up a dialog with the message “The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect”.
Following a suggestion found here:

I downloaded and installed the vcredist_x86 package from Microsoft as found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en
and that fixed the problem, but it appears there’s something missing in the Avogadro installer to cause this issue in the first place.
FWIW the PC has no internet connection so does not have any Windows updates applied above SP2.
