Exporting to XYZ causes loop in dialog window

I believe this to be a bug with Avogadro

Environment Information

Avogadro version: 1.93.0-2-gf4e4606
Operating system and version: Ubuntu 18.04
also
Avogadro version: 1.91
Operating system and version: Windows 10

Expected Behavior

Exporting a molecule to XYZ format should open a dialog window where one writes the name of the file, clicks “save”, the window disappears and the file is written to disk.

Actual Behavior

Exporting a molecule to XYZ format opens a dialog window where one writes the name of the file, clicks “save”, the window disappears and then reappears and the file is not written to disk. The file is written to disk after clicking on “Cancel” when the window reappears.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. open avogadro2
  2. do a single click in the black area to create a methane molecule
  3. go to File->export->molecule
  4. write filename with xyz extension
  5. click “save”

I don’t see this

It is not in my avogadro 1.2.
You can directly save molecule in xyz format by using save as and changing file type.

As he indicated in his message above, he’s using 1.93 (beta 2.0) not 1.2.

There are a few changes, including how to export to different formats. We found there was considerable confusion that saving to some formats (XYZ in particular) would lose bonding information.
