Exporting as PDB on Windows 11 fails

I believe this to be a bug with Avogadro

Environment Information

Avogadro version: 1.100.0
Operating system and version:
Windows 11, version 24H2

Expected Behavior

File → Open → <somefile.pdb>
Then…
Export → Molecule → “test.pdb”
test.pdb saved to disk.

Actual Behavior

  1. File → Open → <somefile.pdb> works as expected.
1a. No “PDB” under “Save as Type:” on the Windows Export Molecule dialog window.
1b. On manually exporting (“Save as type: All files (*)”) as a pdb eg., test.pdb, I get the error:
“Unable to find a suitable file writer for the selected format”.

Steps to Reproduce

As above. I’ve tried this across multiple PDBs, and the result is the same. Also, please note, this is an “out of the box”, installation on Windows 11. I have made no modifications to the Avogadro installation.

There is a known bug with 1.100 on Windows - it did not include the Open Babel import or export features. Please try a nightly build, it should be fixed.

Thank you. I’ll give this a try when I return to my Windows machine.

Yep, just to confirm. This did resolve my issue saving PDB files. Thanks!
