Does not show up under win 10

I believe this to be a bug with Avogadro

Environment Information

Avogadro version:
Avogardro 1.99
Operating system and version:
windows PRO 10 22H2

Expected Behavior

should work

Actual Behavior

does not show up at start up

Steps to Reproduce

install and try to start
Please upload files if appropriate here (or via file-sharing service like Dropbox or Pastebin)
nothing to upload

Can you please try a nightly build from https://two.avgogadro.cc/ instead? There have been a few fixes in the meantime.

If a nightly build doesn’t work, can you look in your Documents directory for a file called avogadro2.log and post it?

Thanks

the link does not work.

Sincerely

thomas WIllms

Serves me right for typing on my phone https://two.avogadro.cc

Thanks, I didn’t saw the error either…

The nightly build does not run either.

Is ORCA supported?

Sincerely

Thomas

One more question:

Is it not possible to download the 1.98 or 1.97 version?

I would like to try those in case that 1.99 has a bug which was not here before.

Sincerely

Thomas

Can you please post the avogadro2.log file, please?

You should install Python for the ORCA input generator.

Sure, they’re available on Releases · OpenChemistry/avogadrolibs · GitHub

Hello,

<<<Can you please post the avogadro2.log file, please?
I had a look at this file. It was difficult to find. A path should be given somewhere,
I am just changing my python configuration. I hope this helps. Is there anything else serious that I overlooked?

Several versions were installed: 2.7; 3.6 and 3.12 but nor found.

I found this site too, but there are only descriptions of the versions with links which all point to the newest version!!

Under each version’s release notes, click on “Assets” to show the available downloads, then click the one ending in .exe to download the Windows installer.

In any case, you can get 1.98.1 from here and 1.97 from here.
