Hi,
The custom color feature is nice but only one color can be used. First
I thought this was a bug but it’s actually a consequence of how color
plugins are used. Only one set of instances exist at a point in time.
For some colors without settings, this is not an issue. For other
color plugins it would make sense to let an engine own a color once it
is set. The easiest way to implement would be to let an engine always
own the color.
A use case would be: Two aliged molecules (e.g. ligands, conformers,
…) one colored red and the other green.
Any thoughts on this?

- In selectrotatetool it’s possible to choose custom color for individual atom.
- This functionality can be extended to support multiple selected atoms at once
- There’s a select mode “Molecule”
- ???
- profit!
