Avogadro version for MAC

All,
I have a Macbook & I am trying to install Avogadro on it. My Macbook is:
Operating System: OSX version 10.6.8
Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I have download Avogadro 1.1.1 & installed it in my applications folder.
The first thing I notice is that the icon is crossed out, then when I
double click to run it I get the message “You can’t open the application
Avogadro.app because it is not supported on this type of Mac”. So it does
not run.

Is their a earlier version of the software that will run on my Mac? If so
how can I obtain the installer. Would Avogadro 2 fix my problems? I have
read the paper & would really like to be able to use Avogadro as it appears
to be a very advanced & flexible molecular editor. I hope to be able to use
it for generating input for GAMESS/US.

Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thanks very much,

Your version of Mac OS X is not supported. I suspect you could use Avogadro 1.0.x, but I can’t remember what I was using to compile at the time.

No, Avogadro 2 will not help you. It’s very hard to support versions before ~10.7 or 10.8 at this point.
