Trouble visualizing electrostatic potential

Hello,

I am having issues attempting to visualize the Electrostatic potential surface of CF4 and the program continually says that it is not supported yet. I recently downloaded Avogadro. Any advice on what I can do to fix this issue?

I think what you want is to generate the electrostatic potential mapped onto the molecular surface (i.e, the van der Waals surface). In version 1.x, do this: Set the surface type to Van der Waals Set the “color by” to Electrostatic Potential (this will use Gasteiger charges) Change the resolution if you wish That’s it. Hi,

I would like some help finding out how to construct and show the scale of the ESP surface and show the change in density across the compound similar to the image I attached below. Am I able to do this with Avogadro?
