Translations

I think that I just got all the strings in Avogadro for translation
– I used grep and ran through the tools, extensions, etc.

I’m not sure if this had any effect on the existing translations.
Please let me know!

Thanks,
-Geoff

Benoit and people that know languages better than english,

The translation stuff is all in one directory. It should be up to date
now but actually, each app (libavogadro and avogadro) install their own
translation files right now. You have /usr/share/avogadro/ and
/usr/share/libavogadro.

All of the previous translations should still be in there. I went
through and checked all the ones that were done already.

OK, I’ll take a look when I can.

However: don’t delay the 0.2 release by a single second to wait for me to
translate, as I’m currently busy with my thesis and I can’t tell when I’ll
be able to continue translating.

But sooner or later I’ll do it, promised.

Same here, I guess I will translate a bit today and a bit next week. Lets see
how fast that goes.

In KDE we are using the XX language in which every string is simply emtpy. If
you start Avogadro you shouldn’t see a single string. IF you see a string you
know that you missed a tr()-call.
I guess we should do a similar technique here…

Carsten

Not quite sure I understand.

Does that mean if we have a language that someone didn’t translate then
someone will see nothing?

Hi all.

Just to draw your attention to some missing translations in latest master:
see screen capture.

But I really like this new function and look forward to the coming stable
release of Avogadro.

Regards,

Louis

I see that you’ve just updated them. I’ve been merging the translations about once a month, but I can certainly merge these.
(Unfortunately, I’m not quite sure how to automate the translation merging.)

I take it back. Thanks for the update, this is a bug that I’ll fix in master (and Launchpad) shortly.

Thanks!
