Question

Hi, I recently downloaded the avogadro software and let me say I am
absolutely stunned that I found such a program for free! I noticed that
you guys are still trying to develop and improve the software and are
looking for people to help. I am absolutely fascinated with this program
and would love to help out. I do though, want to ask if we could set up a
chatroom to start though. I was going through the archives you guys have
set up and realized its not the most efficient way to communicate and
interact. There are hundreds of websites that host chatrooms for free and
it would greatly improve communications (which will help improve the
program). Thanks, and good job with the program!

Welcome! We’re definitely interested in any help you can provide.

We use the IRC protocol for chat. You can find many of us online at #avogadro on freenode.net.

Hope that helps, and hope to see you on IRC.

You haven’t said what OS you use, but you’ll want to find an IRC client. Once you sign on to irc.freenode.net, you can switch to #avogadro to find us. It’s not a Web-based chat, it’s IRC.

Hope that helps,

Freenode does now have a webchat available. Just point your web
browser to http://webchat.freenode.net/ , put in a nickname and under
channels put #avogadro
