Output/Viewable/Zoom question

anyway to save a molecule output in a larger zoomed in aspect? My molecule
is huge and since Avogadro wil only output what is viewable in the window,
it will not fit in an output file without being super small and unusuable.

Is there a way to make that work?

I’m not aware of a way to do this directly in avogadro, but exporting to
svg / ps / pdf or some other vector graphics format will produce a
resizeable image, which could then be rasterized to higher resolution
raster image using something like imagemagick.

Hope this helps,
Dave

I’d export with pov-ray at a very large resolution and work with that later.

I was about to say this, the POV-Ray export effectively gives you a
"vector representation" of sorts - cylinders and spheres are implicit
in ray tracers, not tessellated. You can render at any resolution, and
so should be able to push that up, save the POV-Ray file and you can
tweak it afterwards - it may take a while to render, but it should
work.
