Open File Dialog very slow

Dear All
Whenever I want to open a file over an SSH connection, the "Open File"
dialog seems to have tremenduous trouble loading the content of a given
directory, from where I want to open my file.
Does anyone experience the same issues? Just for the record, if I
display the content of the directory with the Finder (in Mac OS X), that
is just as fast as if it was local.

Thanks for any comments
Martin

Strange. I don’t think this is necessarily an Avogadro issue per-se. I’m assuming if you open this directory in another Mac application (e.g., Mail.app or TextEdit.app) there’s also no slowdown?

Thanks,

It seems like SSHFS exists for Mac too:
http://pqrs.org/macosx/sshfs/

There should be no difference between local and remote files for your applications
with this thing
