Is it needed to compile OB with Python to get Python support in Avogadro?

Regards,
Konstantin

The short answer is no. If you have OB python, it is possible to use
the Molecule::OBMol function as argument to an OpenBabel::OBMol
contructor to create an OB molecule which can be then be used with the
OB python bindings. This is all done is C++ and therefore it doesn’t
matter if you have compiled OB with or without python support.
