Help

Hi All.

While testing the latest trunk version under Mac OS X Leopard,
the application crashed and would not restart despite complete
reinstallation. This is the end of the startup:

SetMolecule Called!
GLWidget initialisation…
GLWidget initialised…
createObjects()
No grid data found -> no orbitals.
OpenGL extension GL_ARB_texture_rectangle is present.
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::length_error’
what(): vector::_M_fill_insert
Abort trap

I think this is due to a problem with the configuration file, but to
my shame, I am unable to locate something like ".config/SourceForge"
under Linux in the Mac. Where is this on the Mac?

The Linux version works great and gets better every day.

~/Library/Preferences/net.sourceforge.Avogadro.plist

Please let us know if that solves the problem – it shouldn’t crash,
even on a malformed config file.

Thanks very much,

Hi

My. The only place I did not look for it.
Thank you very much: deleting this file solved the problem.
I could reproduce the crash a couple of times. Here it is:

start the program: drawtool is selected;
open an fchk file in the extension menu;
display an orbital then change to the maipulation tool;
go to settings; change the view and modify the isovalue;
now superpose the surface; change the presentation to lines;
now quit.

On reloading Avogadro, the error reported in my previous
mail happens.

This is while working on my ppc G5. I could not reproduce this under
Fedora.
Two crashed plists attached just in case.

Thanks
