Custom labels

Hi everyone,

I’ve posted this type of question to the requests mail list, but am not sure
that this was the right place for it.

I am a Toronto researcher interested in using Avogadro as a tool to
illustrate social networking. I am fascinated by its speed and animation,
however, I require custom labelling for the ‘atoms’. I have tried to
implement this on both Linux and OSX using v. 1.0.0 but the custom label
doesn’t seem to work. It appears that the elemental names or abbreviations
are inherently linked to some list, and that this list is inaccessible (at
least for a non-programmer). When the atom name is changed from that of an
element, “Xx” appears in its place by default. Can you help me to modify
this?

Thanks.

Absense of custom labels is well-known limitation of Avogadro, and it would be great if you have some progress in this field. What code are you trying to modify?
