Initial Comment:
If you use the ring engine (without draw “adjust hydrogens”), here’s the problem with threaded GL

  1. Draw a ring.
  2. Delete an atom

Bang. Crash.

The problem is that the ring engine is asking the molecule for rings before the molecule has time to invalidate the ring set.

The threaded GL code needs to have read/write locking of data when the molecule changes!
