I was wondering if Avogadro could update their icon to either a .svg
icon or just a higher resolution one.

I can take a look at this, and will see if I can improve it. The
report doesn’t reference what version you are referring to, but I
presume 1.1.1?

Yes I am using Avogadro-1.1.0-6 (the -6 is mostly for Arch Linux changes
usually due to recompiling against a new boost library). Thanks for the

I can take a look at this, and will see if I can improve it. The report doesn’t reference what version you are referring to, but I presume 1.1.1?
We have both a 512x512 icon and an SVG version, so this shouldn’t be too hard to fix.

Yeah, I use Arch everyday for development so I don’t mind patching this.
Just to be clear, the .desktop file will of course affect all Linux
systems, but I don’t think this will be an issue.

Quick responses are excellent! I found that the Arch Linux icon points
to /usr/share/pixmaps/avogadro-icon.png (which is indicated in the
desktop file as “avogadro-icon”). I also noticed that the avogadro
scalable icon isn’t in “/usr/share/icons/scalable/”. I think if the
avogadro scalable icon was placed in that folder and the desktop file
was updated to point to it, it should solve the problem.
